Argos is back and he's not alone!

While the blog was slowly getting back up and running, we continued working on two projects that are useful to our daily work and on which we are investing a lot of time.

We've revitalized Argos and, based on our experience, developed the first beta of Speculator.

Argos

Argos This is the script we use to create the virtual machines we need for quick analyses, as it installs all the resources needed to run some of our analyses, which we can't budget for. The repository is always the same, and in addition to updating it to the latest Ubuntu release, 24.04 LTSUbuntu Budgie 24.04 LTS, removed the tools that were no longer updated and added new ones, Over the past few weeks, we've tidied up the documentation and started updating the various scripts that launch the tools.

Speculator

Speculator It was born from the experience with Argos. It's the script adapted for Debian 13 "Trixie" machines. Like Argos, it installs tools, configures the profile, and within a few dozen minutes delivers a standardized environment ready for use. Try it yourself; you can find the public repo. here.

In these weeks we are working on creating a work workflow, writing a page FAQ in English which answers the most common questions: requirements, included tools, customizing Zenity scripts, how to contribute.

The name is not accidental. speculators They were a body of the Roman army specialized in territorial reconnaissance.

Why should you use one of these scripts?

Argos and Speculator appeal to the same type of analysts who need a starting point to quickly and easily build their own OSInt machine.

Both repositories are public and open to contributions and feedback. If you find a bug, think we haven't included a tool you use every day, or have a suggestion for improving the workflow, let us know!
